we're born to be a little different, we do things our own way
our story
we’ve always wanted to create something new. something that excites us, something we want to drink, and a place we can call home.
big short coffee was born from that idea: a space built around sharing knowledge, exchanging experiences, and welcoming everyone who walks through our doors.
since 2024, we’ve been focused on what’s next in coffee. through experimentation and new techniques, we’re shaping the direction of fourth wave coffee.
our inspiration
we’re fortunate to be travelling, gathering inspiration from different cultures, cuisines, teas, and coffees around the world.
these experiences influence the way we approach coffee and become part of the stories we share through what we create.
at the same time, many of our ideas begin much closer to home, shaped by the flavours, traditions, and memories that surround us.
we experiment with techniques and ingredients not traditionally used in coffee — drawing from molecular gastronomy, science labs, cocktail culture, and our own trial and error.
we love joo chiat and are grateful to begin our journey here. it’s a neighbourhood we’ve always been drawn to, and we’re proud to be part of its story in our own little corner.
